PROFESSIONAL ORGANIZERS HOST 2nd ANNUAL
CLUTTER DROP-OFF & RECYCLING EVENT
DRAPER,
How to Prepare for the Event: “Identify items you haven’t used or needed during the past year” suggests professional organizer
Laurie advises, “If you fear getting rid of something you might need later, ask yourself the following questions: 1. Have I used or needed this during the past year? 2. Can I identify a specific time I will use or need this again? 3. Is this something I really love or value? 4. Is this something I can easily obtain again? 5. What is the worst thing that could happen if I got rid of this item? Answering these questions can help assist you in determining which belongings are truly necessary verses those that are simply lying around as clutter.”
Event Sponsors: The following vendors have agreed to offer their services FREE to the public during the event. Please SEPARATE YOUR ITEMS into the following vendor groupings for easier “drive-by, drop-off” functionality:
• Certified Shred (www.certifiedshred.com/) will accept up to 10 banker-sized boxes per person of personal documents.
• 1-800-GOT-JUNK? (http://www.1800gotjunk.com/) will accept any junk except for hazardous waste materials.
• Salt Lake Valley Health Department (http://www.slvhealth.org/) will accept hazardous waste materials such as paint, antifreeze, fertilizer, oil and household chemicals in original packaging. They will also accept car batteries and e-waste such as computers, monitors, laptops, printers, cell phones, and so forth.
• IKEA (www.ikea.com/us/en/store/draper) is offering 20%-60% discounts on select organizing items throughout the day as well as donating refreshments. They will also provide bins for dropping off your cardboard & plastic recycling.

• Franklin Covey (http://www.franklincovey.com/) will donate water for the event.
• NAPO-SL CIF (http://www.utahorganizersgroup.com/) local professional organizers from the National Association of Professional Organizers-Salt Lake CIF (NAPO-SL CIF) will be on hand to help offer tips and advice for staying organized in 2010.
